A Day in Venice Beach

Landed in Venice Beach two evenings ago. I’ve always thought this is a wonderful part of the world even though poverty and homelessness are rampant alongside enormous wealth.

And for me, therein lies the  problem. In this country they just put up with it. Oh well, what can we do? I come here and that’s what I notice. So I don’t ever forget.

Of course, Toronto’s homelessness/poverty woes are public knowledge. But there seems a more concerted effort to actually wrap their minds around it, and deal with it. Well, not on a Federal level, mind, but elsewhere….

And Harper is not forever, even though he thinks he is.

So when I go out today and walk the beach boulevard, there’s no way I can ever forget these men and women. I wouldn’t want anyone else to do anything different.
