The NRA Leadership Must Be Monsters; They Robocalled In Newtown

This is monstrous. The NRA has been robocalling in Newtown on the subject of guns. It’s one of the most appalling things I’ve seen in quite some time. These are the people who lost their own—and the NRA leadership condones this behavior?

My God.

If I wanted to be charitable, and in this case I don’t, I could call these people tone-deaf; I could say they’re cruelly ignorant of the optics of such an act.

These people are monsters. Purely, simply.

I’m not talking about the rank-and-file, for the most part. I mean the people in charge, the ones capable of making such a decision. It’s as though they’d taken the position it didn’t matter what happened in Newtown, that the NRA’s goals were more important than the suffering of mourners.

That’s monstrous.

The NRA stepped over a moral, ethical line a long time ago. The organization’s leadership should be shamed into quitting their jobs and giving the office keys to the people the NRA should represent but manifestly don’t: hunters, outdoorspeople, the above-cited rank-and-file. Only then will this group regain any version of viability. LaPierre and his crew have destroyed it. Also, have a look at what else they’re doing—world outreach concerning guns, like evangelists whose god is the gun manufacturers. They have to go, and the NRA must never again be permitted so much power. That has to happen.
